what if suddenly it all melts?! :)

This is my adorable niece! She’s 18 months old, lives in Portugal with her mummy and daddy and provokes the best smiles I have seen in the family for many years!!

Every week I get amazing stories and little episodes on what she’s been up to! Sometimes it seems that as soon as a baby is born the rest of our family lives disappears, but you know what?.. I think it is all because of how beautiful, pure and genuine they are!! We get dragged into observing them, seeing them discover the world, helping them to give the first smile back, to give their first steps, to say the first words and to start discovering an amazing whole new world when they manage to get those heavy nappies off the floor! And suddenly those nights with little sleep don't matter so much anymore..

It’s amazing to see Rute developing! We live far away and only get to see each other every 3 months or so, but the empathy and instant smile are immediate! And it feels so good when, even being this little, she recognises me straight away and absolutely melts any tiredness and long journey effects!

It is well worth it to get up at 4 AM and run to the airport, when I know she’ll be at the end of the trip waiting with her perfect cute smile! :))

    Eu , o zé ricardo, o fred e a guida já temos filhos (acho que o tó ainda não....). Sendo tu a mais velha dos primos logo a seguir a mim do que estás à espera?

    I believe Karen promised to do all child care after 6pm so I think I get to sleep every night if a baby comes along!

    Hace tiempo que escribo de todo un poco, pero recien empece con el blog! Es una manera facil de compartir con mi familia y amigos lo que sigo haciendo por aqui, lo que pasa en mi vida..     Obrigada minha querida!! So hoje e que vi este comentario!!! :))) Es uma doce e mae fantastica de uma filhota genial!! A ansiedade de aproveitar cada momento com ela, misturada com a ansiedade de a ver crescer, desenvolver, falar que nem uma tagarela, sao excelentes para mim!!
